Archived and distributed through the ORNL DAAC, the Daymet data set provides gridded estimates of daily weather parameters for North America, including daily continuous surfaces of minimum and maximum temperature, precipitation occurrence and amount, humidity, shortwave radiation, snow water equivalent, and day length. The daily time step, 1 km x 1 km spatial resolution, andRead more about ORNL DAAC Daymet[…]

The North American Soil Moisture Database (NASMD) is a harmonized and quality-controlled soil moisture dataset that helps investigate land-atmosphere interactions, validates the accuracy of soil moisture simulations in global land- surface models and from satellite platforms, and describes how soil moisture influences climate on seasonal to inter-annual timescales. The NASMD was developed and constructed atRead more about TAMU North American Soil Moisture Database[…]
The database currently contains data from January 1950 to January 2016, as entered by NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS). Bulk data are available in comma-separated files (CSV). These files can be viewed in Excel and other spreadsheet applications. Access: FTP / HTTP Detailed information about the fields/columns: FTP / HTTP Documentation on the file namingRead more about NOAA Storm Database[…]
The way NASA earth science data are typically archived (by time steps, one step per file, often containing multiple variables) is not optimal for their access by the hydrology community, particularly if the data volume and/or number of data files are large. To enhance the access to and use of these data, the NASA GoddardRead more about Goddard Earth Sciences Data Information Center[…]
These pages provide access to water-resources data collected at approximately 1.5 million sites in all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Online access to this data is organized around the categories listed to the left. The USGS investigates theRead more about USGS National Water Information System[…]
The NorWeST webpage hosts stream temperature data and climate scenarios in a variety of user-friendly digital formats for streams and rivers across the western U.S. The temperature database was compiled from hundreds of biologists and hydrologists working for >100 resource agencies and contains >150,000,000 hourly temperature recordings at >20,000 unique stream sites. Those temperature dataRead more about NorWEST Stream Temp Database[…]
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) operates and manages the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC). RMA was created in 1996; FCIC was founded in 1938. RMA, through FCIC, provides crop insurance to American farmers and ranchers. Private-sector insurance companies sell and service the policies. RMA develops and/or approves the premium rate,Read more about USDA Crop Loss Insurance Program[…]
The present AgriMet network consists of over 70 agricultural weather stations located throughout the Pacific Northwest (see map). Three stations operated by the NOAA Air Resources Laboratory in Idaho Falls, Idaho provide the weather data required to model evapotranspiration at Aberdeen, Kettle Butte, and Monteview, Idaho. Over 20 stations east of the Continental Divide in Montana are managed by the Bureau of Reclamation Great Plains Region. http://usbr.gov/pn/agrimet
Dryad is an international repository of data underlying scientific and medical publications, particularly data for which no specialized repository exists.
Data Observation Network for Earth (DataONE) is the foundation of new innovative environmental science through a distributed framework and sustainable cyberinfrastructure that meets the needs of science and society for open, persistent, robust, and secure access to well-described and easily discovered Earth observational data. http://dataone.org/
Welcome to the PSD NOAA Climate Data Repository: This is a RAMADDA server for storing and accessing information used in NOAA/ESRL/PSD’s Interpreting Climate Conditions research. RAMADDA is a content management system that can provide access to data, metadata, presentations, images and analysis of geoscience data. http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/repository
Conservation Biology Institute provides scientific expertise to support the conservation and recovery of biological diversity in its natural state through applied research, education, planning, and community service. As environmental conservation problems become more serious and the demand to solve them grows more urgent, building better connections between science, policy, and people is critical. CBI built Data Basin in response to the need to access, interpret, analyze, and communicate using conservation science data. Data Basin is a web-based platform that integrates science, mapping, and people. Data Basin supports users with a wide range of technical capabilities. The functionality supports technical specialists, decision makers, and members of the interested public. http://www.databasin.org
USGS Data Portal: Data management for modeling and assessing the impacts of future climate conditions is also becoming increasingly expensive due to the size of the datasets. The Geo Data Portal addresses these limitations, making access to numerous climate datasets for particular areas of interest a simple and efficient task.
